For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Rom14:17) ~ For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who ate with offence. (Rom14:20)
The above words means that do not let the people of God fall because of eating. (Some people misunderstand that the kingdom of God has nothing to do with eating because they quote verse 17 separately.)
And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. (Luk14:15) The Lord’s response to someone saying that they can be blessed in the kingdom of God is telling a feast. God says that the king who invites guests for eating together is like the kingdom of God. The eating and drinking with God is the kingdom of God.
Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many guests: ~ shall taste of my supper. (Luk14:16~24)
Jesus even heard a glutton and drunkard because He enjoy eating and drinking together.
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.(Luk7:34) .
That you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.(Luk22:30) It is a promise to eat and drink in the kingdom of God.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. (Psa23:5)
It is also called a meal (eat with God) that he rewards when all finishes our present life. I have long misunderstood this award as a gold trophy. In view of the above, the kingdom of God includes the eating and drinking of the king and his people together. It is more biblical to think that future kingdom is the actual kingdom of eating, drinking, and living together.
