빛이 어둠에 비치되 어둠이 깨닫지 못하더라
하나님께로부터 보내심을 받은 사람이 있으니 그의 이름은 요한이라
그가 증언하러 왔으니 곧 빛에 대하여 증언하고 모든 사람이 자기로 말미암아 믿게 하려 함이라
그는 이 빛이 아니요 이 빛에 대하여 증언하러 온 자라
참 빛 곧 세상에 와서 각 사람에게 비추는 빛이 있었나니
그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하였고
자기 땅에 오매 자기 백성이 영접하지 아니하였으나
영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니
이는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로부터 난 자들이니라
말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라
요한이 그에 대하여 증언하여 외쳐 이르되 내가 전에 말하기를 내 뒤에 오시는 이가 나보다 앞선 것은 나보다 먼저 계심이라 한 것이 이 사람을 가리킴이라 하니라
우리가 다 그의 충만한 데서 받으니 은혜 위에 은혜러라
율법은 모세로 말미암아 주어진 것이요 은혜와 진리는 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 온 것이라
본래 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 아버지 품 속에 있는 독생하신 하나님이 나타내셨느니라

예수님께서 만물을 창조하셨습니다. 아멘.
그리고 자기 땅에 오셨습니다.
자기 땅에 오신 이유는 하나님 나라를 건설하기 위함입니다.
예수님께서 모든 만물을 창조하셨으니 원래부터 예수님의 소유입니다.
자기 땅에 오셨습니다.
왕으로서 이 땅에 오셨습니다. 그리고 하나님 나라를 선포하셨습니다.
그런데 많은 사람들이 예수님을 거부했습니다. 예수님을 죽이기까지 했습니다.
예수님을 거부한 이유는 예수님이 자기들의 왕됨을 원치 않기 때문입니다.
예수님을 영접하는 자에게는 권세를 주셨는데 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세입니다.
예수님을 영접한다는 것은 예수님을 왕으로 모시는 것을 말합니다.
하나님 나라는 “나라”입니다.
나라는 통치, 영역, 백성이 있습니다.
예수님의 통치를 거부하는 사람은 하나님 나라 바깥 어두운데 쫒겨납니다.
예수님의 통치를 받아들이는 사람은 하나님 나라 백성으로 하나님 나라에 살게 됩니다.
조금 더 살펴보면…
아담과 하와를 에덴동산에 두시고 만물을 다스리게 하신 것은
하나님께서 이 땅에 하나님 나라를 건설하시려는 것이었습니다.
그러나 아담은 반역을 하고 사탄에게 넘겨 주었습니다.
그렇지만 하나님은 포기하지 않으셨습니다.
예수님을 이 땅에 보내신 것입니다.
오랫동안 기독교는 복음을 가볍게 여겨온 것이 아닌가요?
구원 티켓만 손에 쥐면 그만인 것처럼…
우리는 영적구원만을 이야기 하면 안됩니다.
그것은 영지주의와 다를 바가 없습니다.
“예수님께서 육체로 오셨다”는 말이 참으로 영적인 말임을 알아야 합니다.
예수님은 육체로 이 땅에 오셨다는 것을 명심해야합니다.
그리고 십자가의 죽음이란 정말 끔찍한 죽음이었다는 것을 알아야 합니다.
그래서 유대인들은 나무에 달린 자마다 저주를 받은 자라고 알고 있습니다.
예수님도 할 수만 있으면 이 잔을 피할 수 있기를 원했습니다.
예수님처럼 죽음을 두려워한 사람도 없을 것입니다.
그 죽음이 어떠한 죽음인지를 아셨기 때문입니다.
예수님은 순종하심으로 그 잔을 받으셨고 영광으로 부활하셨습니다.
하나님 나라는 죽은 후 어딘가로 가는 곳이 아닙니다.
하나님은 이 땅에 하나님 나라를 건설하신다고 말씀하시는데
사람들은 죽은 후 어디론가 가는 것으로 알고 있습니다.
종교가 바로 그와 같이 이야기 합니다.
종교는 사람들이 왕이 되어 이 땅을 지배하기 위한 수단으로 많이 이용되어 왔습니다.
단적으로 이야기하면 이런 것이죠.
‘무지한 백성들아, 인생이 고달프고 힘이 들지?
내 권력아래 순복하면서 조금만 참아~
죽은 후에 천국에 갈 수 있으니까…’
그러나 성경은 분명히 이야기하기를 이 모든 만물은 하나님이 지으셨고
만물도 종 노릇하는 것에서 회복되기를 기다린다고 이야기 하고 있습니다.
전에 ~ 교회에서 ‘예수님이 이 땅에 오신 것은 정치적 메시야로 오신 것이 아니’라고
이야기하는 것을 들었습니다.
당시 유대인과 제자들이 로마에서 해방시켜줄 메시야를 기대했지만
예수님은 그런 정치적 메시야로 온 것이 아니기 때문에 십자가에 죽으시고 부활하심으로
우리를 영적으로 구원하시려 한 것이라고….
여기에 오해가 있지 않습니까?
예수님께서 빌라도 앞에서 분명히 이야기 했습니다.
‘내가 유대인의 왕이다.’
그러므로 로마나라로서는 받아들일 수 없는 죄목입니다.
그 죄목으로 예수님은 처형을 당하신 것입니다.
예수님이 달리신 십자가 위에도 죄목을 분명하게 썼습니다.
‘유대인의 왕 나사렛 예수’
히브리말로, 아람어로, 로마말로 썼습니다.
이제 값을 지불했으니 사탄은 자기 소유를 주장할 수 없게 되었습니다.
하나님 나라는 점진적으로 완성되어 갑니다.
하나님 나라는 하나님이 세우십니다.
하나님께서 자기 백성을 모으시고 하나님께서 그 영역을 넓혀 가시고
하나님께서 통치 하십니다.
여기에 교회의 역할이 있습니다.
교회란 ‘사회에서 부름받아 여러가지 정세들을 논의하는 사람들’이라는 뜻의 에클레시아에서 나왔습니다.
다시 말해 하나님 나라가 이 땅에 잘 실현되도록 정세를 논의하고 실행하는 사람들이라고 할 수 있습니다.
그러므로 교회가 결코 하나님 나라보다 앞설 수 없습니다.
교회는 하나님 나라를 위해 존재하는 것입니다.
